HISTORY
In the 1930's, Bernard Fenster, an importer-exporter from Europe, decided
it was time for a new career. He found his calling in real estate. Benny,
as he was affectionately known, with his son Leo, founded Fenster & Company Real
Estate in 1938. With real estate sales comes the need for property
insurance. Leo took the initiative to sell insurance in-house direct to
his real estate clientele instead of feeding the insurance out to other
agents. Leo Fenster soon became a household name in the Midwood section of
Brooklyn.
Bernard Fenster passed away in 1954.
In 1959, Leo moved both companies,
Fenster & Company Real Estate and Leo Fenster Insurance, from its' home of
21 years at 421 Avenue M to its' current location at 1503 Avenue J.
Leo's sons, Robert & Michael Fenster,
joined the staff in the early 1970's.
The business became a 4-generation family business when
Marc Fenster, Robert's son, signed on in 1996.
2004 saw the first reorganization of the business since
the 1930's, when Leo Fenster Agency was formed giving equal ownership
rights to Leo, Robert & Marc Fenster.
The trio of grandfather, father & son had big plans for
the future of the agency when Leo Fenster suddenly passed away.
Just as Leo had to carry on after his father passed away,
Robert & Marc had to pick up the pieces and maintain business as usual.
Leo wouldn't have wanted it any other way.
Today, Leo Fenster Agency along with
it's sister company Fenster & Company Real Estate continue to serve the
community as friendly and family-oriented as ever. We offer our clients only the best service and
attention that you would expect from over a half century of experience.
